2008年のE3 Media & Business Summitは7月17日に閉幕した。この4000人規模のイベントへの人々の反応は複雑なものだったが、参加者はそれが招待制のイベントであれ、規模を縮小したショーのフロアであれ、多くの素晴らしいゲームが展示されていたことは認めることだろう。

　2008年の第10回Game Critics Awards：Best of E3 2008の受賞タイトルが米国時間8月5日に発表された。Best of Show賞は、Bethesda Softworksの核戦争後の世界を描いたロールプレイングゲーム（RPG）シリーズの新作である、「Fallout 3」に与えられた。今秋発売予定のFallout 3は、ライバルであるLionhead Studiosの「Fable 2」とBiowareの「Dragon Age: Origins」を退け、同イベントのBest RPG賞も受賞した。

　同じく2つの賞を受賞したのは、PLAYSTATION 3（PS3）用の愛らしい横スクロールゲーム「LittleBigPlanet」で、このゲームはもっとも多くの賞にノミネートされた。LittleBigPlanetはステージ編集機能に焦点を当てたゲームで、「Fallout 3」「ギアーズ オブ ウォー2」「RESISTANCE 2」「バイオハザード5」を退けてBest Console Game賞を受賞した。英国の開発会社Media Molecule（「Rag Doll Kung Fu」を開発したスタジオ）が開発した、10月に発売予定のこのタイトルは、Best Social/Casual Game賞も同時に受賞している。

　複数の賞を受賞したのはLittleBigPlanetとFallout 3だけで、EA Maxisの「Spore」はTHQの「Warhammer 4000: Dawn of War II」とEAの3つのタイトル「Dragon Age: Origins」「Left 4 Dead」「Warhammer Online」を退けてBest PC Game賞を受賞した。他の受賞タイトルには、「Resistance: Retribution」（Best Handheld Game賞）、「Gears of War 2」（Best Action Game賞）などがある。ノミネート作品と受賞作品の完全なリストを以下に示す。
